5 days Nyungwe Forest National Park Safari

This 5 Days Nyungwe Forest National Park Safari will give you a great opportunity to visit one of the highly visited national park in Rwanda, as you visit and explore the beautiful attractions of Nyungwe Forest National Park, and its surrounding attractions such as tea plantations and Lake Kivu. This will be a wonderful moment as you tour around the country side, meeting the local people as well, not forgetting a visit to the southern museum in the province.

Day 1: Airport Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali international airport, you will go through custom and immigration, and you will be met by our company guide who will warmly welcome you to the Land of a thousand hills that Rwanda is know of, a later drive to your booked hotel accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Hotel des Mille Colline (midrange hotel) or Chez Lando hotel (Standard hotel). Meal Plan: Dinner

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park. Travel time +5 hours

Early morning enjoys your buffer breakfast and checkout of the hotel and drive heading to the western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in the Southern Province, this will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship with an enroute lunch.  You will arrive in the afternoon at Nyungwe National Park and spend the afternoon at your leisure. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking & Canopy

Today, after your early morning cap of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe well known for having 13 species of primates, and transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour of finding the chimpanzees. After doing the chimpanzee trek, head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. These 70 meters-suspended metallic bridge will give you a great overview of Nyungwe forest and on a lucky day spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge and later return in the afternoon for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (midrange lodge) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 4: Colobus Monkey Trek & Tea Plantation Visit.

After your morning breakfast, you will head to the park for briefing before you head to search for the colobus monkeys, and on finding them, you will be allowed to take as many pictures as you wish. Return for lunch and after lunch, head for the tea plantation visit, to visit the Gisakura tea gardens, and learn how tea is plated to harvesting time and processing. You will take great photos and later drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel (mid-range lodge) or Emeraude Kivu Resort (Standard lodge). Meal Plan: Breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Day 5: Transfer to Gisenyi

After a relaxed morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu, to catch up with the beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu after just getting done with your morning breakfast. You will take a boat ride to explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. You have a nature walk at one of the islands within this lake which is known for harboring thousands of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it hosts several bird species like the command, pied kingfishers, weaver birds, and heron to mention but a few. You will later return and drive off to Kigali and later be transferred to the airport to catch up with your onward flight.
